Cylinder Head Modifications

For any serious power gains the cylinder head has to be reworked to optimise volumetric efficiency i.e.-efficient airflow management through the head. All heads can be supplied with cams of choice, heads are designed for road use and will produce a smooth turbine like power increase without flat spots or lumpiness often associated with 'tuned' engines. All heads are fitted with new stem seals, pressure tested and refaced. Valves are precision cut and set at the correct height to give optimum performance. Competition valve springs are fitted at extra costs, when high lift cams are specified. On assembly we use new cam seals and oil soluble cam carrier sealant, this prevents oil-ways from becoming blocked and bearing surfaces damaged with hardened sealer. All replacement valves used are made from stainless steel one piece forging of superior design. All porting and gas flowing are carried out in house to exacting standards. All heads can be fitted with solid lifters if required at extra costs.

TUNING PACKAGES FOR MGF 1.8i & MGF VVC

Due to increasing demand for a tuning package that allows MGF drivers to extract more reliable
horse power from their cars for the occasional track day and better touring speeds we have developed and tested a package for both types of engined cars.

MGF/TF 1.8i Clubman Kit (Also fits the ZR and ZS cars)
Consist of a reworked head with larger inlet valves and seats (31.5mm inlet up from the std 27.5mm
dia) re profiled throats, ports, valves and combustion chambers. The standard cams are retained but power gains up to 150BHP can be achieved using our recommended manifold, sports exhaust (Daytona), sports cat, induction kit and 52mm Throttle body. Throttle response and torque are a considerable improvement over the standard engine. The re-worked head is on an exchange basis or customers own unit and the price is £550.00 plus Vat.
A fitting service is available and this costs £500.00 plus Vat.

MGF VVC/TF Clubman kit (Also fits ZR 160cars)
Consists of reworking valves, seats, throats and port profiles. When coupled with our recommended air induction kit and exhaust mods can produce around 175BHP with associated increase torque and throttle response. The re-worked head is on an exchange basis or customers own unit and the
price is £450.00 plus Vat.
A fitting service is available and this costs £500.00 plus Vat.

When fitting tuning parts we always replace gaskets, seals and fluids as required. Any other items
found to be required will be advised.
