Boxer Roll Hoops get a fresh new look. For all models MGF and TF
The Boxer hoops have been around now for some 6 years and has been the longest established, designed and manufactured in house and has been the best selling roll hoop on the market combining form and function.
Not one for leaving well enough alone Mike has taken the opportunity this year to re-tool the hoops unique design in a larger 2" diameter section giving the hoops a more substantial look and indeed offering an increase in strength.
One point to note is that the access to the engine, fitting of the hood cover and hardtop all still fit and function without any restrictions. The hoops are mounted in a substantial structural steel box section sub-frame which is unique in the way it is designed to bolt into the car's chassis without drilling.
The range offers hoops in black, silver finish, chrome or an option in body colour. Three basic variants are available Design 1 is the original Boxer Mk.1 and has a small windbreak with mesh to each hoop, the option with this hoop is a neoprene moulded pad to the front of the hoop which is covered in leather to the colour of your choice.

Boxer 2 is for those who don't want a windbreak and are plain hoops that has a choice of finishes.

Boxer 3Has the twin hoop design and a fold down safety glass windbreak screen the full width of the hoops, again available in a variety of finishes.

Available only direct or through approved fitters and outlets, Brown and Gammons and CK Autos,Redditch.

The Boxer Roll Hoop & Windstops were designed ,developed and prototyped by Mike Satur in 2000. The way the system attaches to the car, shape and the aesthetic appeal are unique to this design and great care was taken not to infringe any other designs that were then available. The design incorporates high strength steel tubing as found in roll cages and the like. The structural steel subframe attaches without any drilling to the cars structure utilising the existing mounting points on the car. The utmost care has been taken to design a product that will not only enhance your MG but will offer a level of protection and comfort to the occupants.

The roll hoops are manufactured in-house at Mike Satur Automotive to strict standards so that every one will fit and function as designed. Beware of imitations, imports or cheap copies that may be 'passed off' as ours. These could endanger your life or devalue your car. If it hasn't our name on it, it isn't our product.

Customer's notes on Harness fitting to Boxer Roll Hoop Bar for Trackday use.

Further to you providing me with welded connections onto the Boxer Roll Hoops I purchased so I can use a harness for Track use, I confirm I have used this successfully on 3 trackdays to date using a ‘Black Willans Supersport 4x4’ 4 point harness with 2” wide straps purchased from Demon Tweeks Ltd at Wrexham, at just under £70.00 per Harness. It is their product code reference SBRSPT422WBK.

Fixings, using the original seats and leaving the original seat belts in place are shown in the photos below. These are - the upper two harness connections are onto the Eye bolt fitted centrally behind the seat screwed into the welded connection to the Roll Bar Support beam you provided. The Eye bolt only just pokes through the T’Bar enough to connect the harness clips to and is just below the top of the seat back, so it doesn’t cause a hazard to the back of the head or neck in an accident. It may be safer to weld two connections per seat/harness into the Roll bar support beam just outside the seat headrest supports and fit the two top harness fixings (of the 4 point harness above) two these. The bottom two harness fixings can not be connected to the seat belt mountings unless the original seat belts are to be removed (there isn’t room to fit these with the original belt connection on to the ‘inside’ of the seat by the central console. So if these are to be retained then I found that I could use the two rear seat runner connections to the floor. The inner one being straight forward but the outer one means that the harness belt would rub/chaff on the seat runner channel which would eventually cut through the belt. I have therefore fitted a plate the same width as the belt so the belt lies against this and does not rub. Again see photo’s. When the harness is not required the top clips are unclipped from the eyebolt and the harness can be folded behind the seat out of the way until the next trackday and the inertia reel belts used as normal.

Customer testimonial

I rang up a couple of months ago to enquire about the Boxer hoops that were available for the MG TF. After looking I was quite impressed with it so ordered it and had it delivered.

I am writing this email to say how impressed I am with it. The quality of the hoops were a lot better than I thought and the housing bracket fitted exactly. I was also impressed with the detail of the instructions making it very clear for someone to fit.

Thank you so much for making my MG TF stand out with some significance. With the hoops it really finishes it off.

Thanks again. Keep up the good work and especially the quality of the goods
D.W.

WINDBREAK SCREEN
(fits all models MGF and MGTF)

Windbreak Screen £139.95 includes vat and carriage within the UK.

Our Windbreak Screen incorporates a tinted toughened glass screen mounted on precision machined aluminium hinges that literally takes 3-4 minutes to fit without any drilling or special tools, in fact all that is required is a pozidrive screwdriver.
It is also easily removed without leaving any damage. The hood tonneau is unaffected and rear screen unzipping is not hindered.

When designing the new Windbreak Screen we decided that it should also be compatible with our Boxer roll hoop and we have made changes to this design to accommodate the new Windbreak Screen. This means if you buy the new Windbreak Screen and decide to upgrade to the Boxer at a later date then the two items will integrate.

Customer Feedback - Toughened Glass Windbreak Screen

"I recently purchased a toughened glass windbreak screen for my 1997 MGF here in New Zealand. The screen arrived very shortly after ordering thanks to the use of DHL couriers and Mike Satur's excellent customer service. The screen took just a few minutes to fit, and was then tested during 1000 km of top-down driving over the Christmas break. The Mike Satur windbreak worked a treat! It was of high quality, looked good (much better than mesh screens do), remained in position without need for adjustment, and with the side windows wound up, my fiancée's long hair barely moved at all, regardless of speed. This was in marked contrast to the buffeting and associated tangled mess of locks that normally accompanied open-top MGF motoring.

I thoroughly recommend the windbreak screen to anyone keen on wind-in-the-hair motoring without too much wind!"
