Designed by Mike to repair this vunerable area. One of the first MG repair panels made was for a MG Midget, around the springhanger, in the mid 1970's, repair panels were not available then and it involved making card templates and then cutting from sheet steel and hand forming on steel dollies. Nowadays we can scan drawings/templates, laser cut and CNC bend parts so we can make sure every part is exactly the same time and time again.
This panel repairs the rear sill closing section and part of the inner arch. The pictures show where the panel fits. These panels are part hand formed from laser cut and bent parts and then welded on my own tooling to produce a consistant part for each individual order.
These areas are prone to rusting and is advisable to replace at the same time as the outer sill section. Made from Zintec steel which adds some protection from rust. After welding in place use a zinc /epoxy primer and then a good body sealer on the joints and use a quality inner body cavity wax after painting.
As with all repair panels they will require individual fitting to get the correct fit and require some skill in fitting to get the desired result, bear this in mind when ordering.
The feedback from professional MG restorers is that they are a great part and they have had no issues with fitting and has saved time in fabricating.
